Four penthouses occupy the top 2 floors of Kings Gate, an apartment building on Victoria Street that we designed for Landsec 2010-16. Each has access to a roof terrace and deep balconies, either looking south over Victoria Station and the river Thames, or westwards towards Buckingham Palace. A tall, double-height, open-plan living space in each apartment orients occupants towards the wonderful views, with an open-tread metal and stone staircase connecting to the upper level bedrooms and on to the roof terrace above. Each element is bespoke, including "Vicky" door handles designed specifically for this project manufactured by Izé, and each resonates with the other, creating an unusually coherent and harmonious whole.
